01 / What we research
Curiosity
opens doors.
Your desire to learn. That idea you want to make happen. The question you still haven't answered. We research how to turn technology into the push you need to take your next step.
Areas we explore
Three approaches.
One purpose: to be useful.
A tool's value is discovered by using it. In that moment when an explanation clicks, an idea starts to take shape or a task stops interrupting your day. That's where we focus: on what technology can bring to a person and on the decisions that make that help possible.
Our areas of work connect capability, design and everyday use. We explore them with an underlying question: what could you do if the path were a little clearer? These are the possibilities we want to open up.
Capability that becomes help.
We test models and explore how to make them more accurate, faster and more useful in real tasks. We're interested in what a person can solve with them, from a question to an idea waiting to be developed.
Some questions cost you an afternoon and others open up a whole project. We want to explore how artificial intelligence can help you organise that first step: find an approach, give an idea structure or understand where to go next. The opportunity lies in turning a technical capability into help that makes sense to you.
That's why we focus on the clarity of answers, how well they relate to what you asked and how easy it is to keep working with them. We also care about recognising limits: a useful answer should let you think, compare and decide with judgement. We want technology to expand your possibilities while you stay in charge.

We turn research into resources for studying, getting organised and shaping new ideas. We design features that fit into everyday life and help you move forward with clarity.
When you study, you need to find the thread of an explanation. When you create, you want your tools to respond to what you imagine. Both experiences share something: moving forward is easier when the next step is clear. We explore how to organise content, present options and give the right context at every moment.
That interest connects education in SifG Edu with photo and video editing in Lumen. They're different needs, but they share one design ambition: helping you go from wanting to do something to actually starting it. We work so the experience leaves room for your curiosity, your style and the way you learn.

We aim for a simple experience from the very first contact: understandable interfaces, quick response times and tools that adapt to different devices.
A good idea deserves to be usable from whatever screen you have at hand. That's why we pay attention to details that affect the whole experience: that text is easy to read, that a button is easy to find, that an image doesn't hold up everything else and that navigation makes sense on a small screen too.
Ease of use is built one decision at a time. We look for clearer journeys, interfaces that communicate what's needed and a balanced relationship between content and speed. Our direction is to help more and more people approach our tools, understand what they're for and start with confidence.

What we explore
takes shape.
Questions become design decisions: how to explain better, how to simplify a task or how to give creativity more room. Our products are where those decisions reach you.
We want you to recognise that work in the details: an option that makes sense, content you can find or a tool that encourages you to keep going. Each product is a way of bringing that intention to a different moment of your day.

A pending topic can seem huge until you find a way to tackle it. SifG Edu brings together resources to study and prepare your subjects. Our research starts from that moment: how to help you find your bearings, access content and focus your attention on understanding.

A photo can say something different in another light. A video can find its rhythm when you reorder the clips. Lumen focuses on those creative decisions: adjusting, trying things out and building an edit that looks like what you had in mind.

Understanding what's in front of you starts with accessing information. Nutrio lets you explore ingredients and additives from the barcode. Its purpose is to give you context to review the product and compare it with its packaging, while keeping your own judgement.

Sometimes discovering something new means returning to a classic with fresh eyes. Zonik brings together video games and context to bring you closer to their ideas, rules and challenges. There too, we care about the experience: making it simple to discover a game and start playing.

You don't need a huge project to want to move forward. It might be a school subject, a photo you like, an everyday decision or simply the urge to try something different. We design around those moments because we know they're what give a tool its meaning.
Research lets us look again at what seems solved and discover where there's still room. An explanation can be clearer. A journey can be more direct. An option can appear exactly where you need it. Our ambition is to turn those small opportunities into an experience that invites you to do more with your ideas.
